Buying a House in Costa Rica

Buying property is easy as pie. You have to have a real estate attorney to check out the title and make sure there is no lien on the land. He will transfer the title into your name and the property is yours.

Getting building permits might be a little bit harder. It depends on what is on your land. You cannot just hack down any tree, even though it's right where you would like to build your dream house. Certain trees are not a problem, but Guanacaste trees for examples are harder to get permits for. You may want to call (506)640-1919 to talk to a lawyer and get information on that.
